Originally posted by lordicer I use a program called LAME. It is command line only, which kind of sucks, but it has lopass/hipass filters and lots of other options. |

Originally posted by rivertrek I use Goldwave, http://www.goldwave.com/ It's a good program to encode/edit/trim wav and mp3 files. Make sure that you download the lame_enc.dll allowing you to encode to mp3. If you can't find it on the website there is a link inside the help file. |

Originally posted by rivertrek You don't need to use command lines to run Lame Encoder with Goldwave. Once you install the Lame encoder the Goldwave programs does everything else for you. Download Goldwave at: http://www.goldwave.com/gwave506.exe Download LAME MP3 Encoder at: http://www.hot.ee/smpman/mp3/ http://www.jthz.com/~lame/ Despite its name, LAME is perhaps the best free MP3 encoder available. Download the latest LAME file from one of the links above and unzip it to extract the Lame_enc.dll file. Make sure you copy that file into the folder where GoldWave is installed (usually C:\Program Files\GoldWave) or you can copy it into the C:\Windows\System (or equivalent) folder. This will allow you to save the files as mp3. Goldwave works with wav and mp3 files, no midi. Goldwave is good as a free demo, but after so many "tolls" (uses) it starts asking you to register. All you need to do is close it out, save first, and restart it. It lasts for a long time before you need to do that though, it's not as bad as it sounds. |
