Today I picked up a flashing keypad for my Nokia 8390. My friend who runs a cell phone shop in downtown Toronto just gave me one for free to test out because he wasn't sure how to install it.

Anyways after some initial difficulties I figured out how to get it working.

The one I have is all Blue LED's. It looks pretty sweet. It looks something like the image below except it is all blue leds and not multi-color, also this one has lights further up along the side of the phone too, it looks nice.

I found the install kind of difficult because the contacts that connect to the battery doesn't really reach long enough and it was necessary for me to tape it to the battery to keep it in place properly.

Two other notes, the factory keypad that comes with the 8390 will not fit very well once you install this. The factory one gets pressed up too much and is difficult to push the buttons. You will most likely need to use the cheaper keypad that is provided. Also the LED's that come with the phone that light up the keypad normally will now look yellowish because of the thing over it.

I am still tinkering around with it though but so far it looks pretty good.

Has anyone else installed this flash keypad before?

Anyways I'll make some pictures soon and post them.

Below here is the multi-color one, the one I have is basically the same thing just blue instead.

I think sometimes they have items that are not on the site. I posted a review of this site in feedback I think. Try emailing them if you cannot locate one.

It's not under the 8390 tab. Click on the tab "flashing keypads" and go to the last page (3). They're the last 2 items listed.
