Unlocking a Rogers Treo 180 for use on Rogers (yeah, thats right)

I got an awesome deal on a treo 180 yesterday, which was in retail rogers packaging. I purchased it, thinking I would be able to use it with my current rogers plan. However when I tried to use it with my current SIM, I got an error saying i needed to call customer service to get a GID unlock code. great!

I called rogers..and explained the situation to them. They said that because it was retail box, I could only use this phone with a new contract. They were not allowed to give me an unlock code for the phone. I asked them why it couldnt even be used on their own network without purchasing a new plan, and they said it ws a 'security feature which seems to have backfired in this case'. So there was nothing they could do.

I'm wondering if anyone knows where I can get an unlock code for this phone, I would really like to be able to start using it

my first question is what did you pay for the product?

also if you send me the imei number i may be able to get the unlock code for you? i have some freinds who work for Rogers wireless, not guarnteed or anything...
