Originally posted by DragonSlayer What's the difference between serial cable & USB cable? I read somewhere that only serial cable can be used to unlock M55. Is that true? Regarding the speed, I don't think there're lots of data to be transfered between M55 and computer. So that probably not a big deal. |

Originally posted by tilt101 The only difference between the two is that the usb cable can charge ur phone bettery. Speed wise they should be the same because the usb cable uses COM port emulation. |

The USB cable should be able to unlock the phone as long as its not an oem cable. Info: Difference between the oem and no name cable is that the rs 232 chip inside the oem cable gets its power from the phone and the no name cable gets its supply from the PC. |

Originally posted by scoobadoo I don't know their address, but do know thier number (604)263-3688. Well, the OEM data cable works great for me. No problem for transfer ringtones, java games, wallpapers... so on. I just don't understand how you guys want to purchase a manufacturer's data cable. Those cables are overpriced and are farmed out to 3rd party anyway. That's just my 2 cents tho
