incoming ringer volume

after downloading new ring tones I find that some ringers are louder is this because I am doing something wrong if so how do I change to increase the loudness?

No no, you're not doing anything wrong. It's just the people who made them, when you convert songs for instance you can make the volume rise or not. Sometimes if you raise the volume too much, you'll lose clarity on the song. So yeah it's up to whomever made the ringtone to determine the loudness.
