Sanyo phones for GSM?

I tried a search but couldn't find anything on this topic so...

Are there any plans for Sanyo to release phones for the GSM market? Or are they solely distributors for SprintPCS? Some of their phones are awesome but are all for SprintPCS...

You just answered your own question my friend. Sanyo is exclusive to Sprint. Being that I use Sprint I'm glad, we get the best cell phones available. Plus I prefer 3G CDMA over GSM any day. Sorry that Sanyo doesn't make GSM phones.

I hear they do make GSM phones, but it's only for Japan, they wont work for america.

the new V-801sa by Sanyo is a supposed GSM and W-CDMA phone. I have tried to get some concrete answers from Vodafone here in Japan but at the moment it looks like the phone will only work overseas on a roaming service. Some tech-minded person may be able to modify it to work overseas on a GSM network as well but I have not been able to find out any info yet.

I am in the same boat as you so if you here something, please let me know.
