WAP ringtones?

I did a search and it came up empty.. I'm just wondering if there's a way to get ringtones on the vx6000 without using a data cable, and without using GIN... like possibly through WAP? I know my t720 wasn't capable of saving ringtones from wap, but I was just wondering if it could happen on the vx6000.

I guess if this doesn't work my other option is to have a friend send me ringtones through text messages?

I'm going to break down and buy a cable eventually, but until then I'm just wondering if there's anything to tide me over until then. Thanks

Nevermind.. I found out how to do it through www.vzwpix.com. Sorry

Actually this gets me thinking though.. what is the advantage of using a data cable over using a service such as this? Obviously the messaging charges are a concern, but I have unlimited picture messaging.. so I'm not really seeing the purpose of buying a cable now. Someone enlighten me

With the cable you can upload mp3 ringers to your phone which are too big to go through vzwpix. It is also an easy way to grab pictures off your phone, and overall easier for uploading ringers/wallpaper. The USB cable I have also charges my phone, which I suppose is kind of nice...so it basically comes down to asking yourself if you want to pay ~$40 for mp3 ringers, and access to your phones filesystem.

What do you mean by this? I found out how to do mp3 ringers through vzwpix... I found out this info from brewbackups.com.. and it is my understanding that the phone can only save sounds that are less than 30kb. I had no problems sending and recieving a 40kb sound file through vzwpix, but couldn't save it due to the 30kb limitation. So I'm just wondering what you mean by uploading ringers too big for vzwpix..
