Long SMS Support C56 & S56?

According to www.phonescoop.com, the C56 supports long SMS (up to 760 characters), but the S56 does not.
1. Can anyone confirm this? I am surpised that the C56 would support this, but not the S56 model.
2. Can anyone confirm that the long SMS works (inbound and outbound messages) on AT&T's network?
