Is there an adapter that will allow me to plug a standard 2.5mm headset into this phone? I don't really want to have to go buy another headset.

I've purchased one from CellularAccessory.com for about $5USD. Seems to work fine. Phone switches to Headset profile when used, which it doesn't do when you use a BT headset.

I don't understand why manufacturers don't all have standard headset jacks on their phones. It ought to be as standard as a keypad or screen...

Is there anything different about the Headset profile, besides having customized settings for when you are using a headset? I can use my Bluetooth headset on any profile and don't notice anything special. It seems like I can only adjust ringer volumes and the usual stuff.

I think the one major thing about the headset profile is that it is automatically selected when you attach the headset. But it is missing the one thing I would expect to have with a headset profile - the ability to choose auto-answer based on the profile. The carkit and headset profiles should have this in my opinion.

But to answer your question, no, there is no difference between that profile and any other. Just that it is automatically selected for you.
