if the op logo doesnt work then it wont work. It's just like that...me and krazykritter are the victims of op logos

Deligon,

Could you please add these three telephone operator logo for Singapore.

Japan

TIA.

Posted by: angel_wing0

i like the docomo one xD

Posted by: Deligon

These Oplogos are for Series 60 phones. I know Japan doesn't use GSM, they use WCDMA I believe. Do they have Series 60 phones that work on this band?

Posted by: xtemujin

Most of Asia is using the new 3G and you can use Nokia 6680 and N70 to name a few where you can use it in Japan as it has dual mode, 3G and GSM.

HTH.

today my phone restarted all on its own, when the screen came back up a custom op logo was there, and it stayed for a few hours, then i tried to change it to something else and it went back to TSTT in writting,so for those of you that it isnt working for,if you ever get it to work, just leave it..

Is there a special way to name the file (for the carrier)? What are the image file format specifications? .GIF? .BMP? colors? file size? etc.

And Merry Christmas, y'all!

Try .Jpg then use Fexplorer to set it as a op logo.

Posted by: angel_wing0

nope, if it wont work, then it wont. It's the provider's problem..happened to alot of ppl inlcuding me and krzykritter

Posted by: tical65

and that was not a foreign language, its called dialect or flavour, something your culture probably lacks

then i apologize, because i m not trying to make fun of anyone or anything.

lol...its all good......

The 6682 is super picky. I have it with cingular and it never worked for me, until recently when about 50% of the time it works. It seems to be tower dependant.

you have a 954 area code or a 305?

Just changed mine to the "Nokia" oplogo. Working perfectly, now I just have to figure out how to have the blue background bleed through.

I transfered the Nokia.bmp to the root of the MMC card using PC Suite. Then, using FExplorer I highlighted the file, selected Options->File->Set as operator logo. It suggest you let the phone reboot, which I did, and voila, it was there ever since. That process creates a 302_720_0.bmp in the c:\System\Apps\Phone\OpLogo directory which should match with my Rogers Wireless settings, as I understand it.

Strange, it's been working perfectly ever since I did it. Just to re-iterate, we are talking about the logo shown on the standby screen right?

Posted by: angel_wing0

yip thats the one

Posted by: rubyx

Hrmm...can't seem to get the cingular.bmp working through FEexplorer on my 6682. I chose use as "Operator Logo" - it asked to reboot and when it rebooted nothing had changed...

I think its tower dependant

Posted by: angel_wing0

Cingular is the hardest to do... i think there towers are the strongest gsm signals in North America

Posted by: angel_wing0

fido here as well

Posted by: sterling_tt

cingular and tmo in miami, no go....

Posted by: makoona

Just tried it on my 6682/cingular in ventura CA, no go. I think it's a sim card thing, it overrides the installed op logo.

Posted by: Deligon

I am curious as if these subsidized hand sets may have started locking out the oplogo? I never had this issue since I only buy OEM unlocked units. Anyone care to confirm this?

Posted by: Deligon

I do not believe it is tower dependant. The Operator code is typically static unless they are in some transitional state. TMO in the US should return 310-26 no matter where you are. In fact when I was in Germany T-Mobile also returned 310-26 (as of last year) The year prior was a different operator Code (TMO-DE). The tower ID however does change, but the oplogo does not relate to that number.

Nope, mine is OEM nokia, unlocked, unbranded. I think it's the sim that keeps it from happening.

no its more like a tower thing, my op logo used to work with my sim until rogers took over fido

I have a 6600 and the oplogo works. Try changing the last digit on the bitmap from 0 to 1.

i.e. 310_26_0.bmp to 310_26_1.bmp Some carriers tend to use 1 over 0.

ok, that jives with what just happened: at home, the logo doesn't show up, but today I was down in town (15 miles away) and an att logo i had put in there showed up! so it must have to do with towers/roaming etc. next time i'll try and have celltrack running so i can see what tower/network.

Posted by: angel_wing0

..so u can move to that location and make sure it works everytime?

Has anyone got this to work on a Symbian 9.1?? I made a .bmp in C:/system/app/phone/oplogo and the file name is the same as what I used for my N-Gage (still the same operator). The oplogo doesn't change no matter how many times I have restarted my phone... Anyone know how to make it work for Symbian 9.1??

Posted by: angel_wing0

i dont think it would work yet without fexplorer...which provider are u with?

Posted by: PlayerKill

I don't live in the US, so you prolly won't know my provider.

Operator Logos for Nokia Series 60 phones

Posted by: Deligon

I think FExplorer is going to have a hell of a time with the symbian certification processes. Especially with the level of control it gives. They charge for the review and certification per submission, plus minor updates will be few and far between since it would have to be reviewed and re-signed again. For an app like FExplorer we will no doubt be doing self-signing more often.

Posted by: angel_wing0

^ havent seen u in sometime

Posted by: Deligon

No kidding, it's been like what? 20,000 posts ago?
So how deep have you hacked your N95? I did a product code change on mine and got the Scandinavian firmware. Filipino was useless to me. Now to work on some branding!

Posted by: angel_wing0

did some, but not deep enough

who knows, maybe 35k posts ago

Posted by: angel_wing0

does op logos work on s60v3 btw? havent heard anyone about putting them on s60v3 phones~

Yeahhh ... I'm also wondering about this too.?? - Been trying to do with this with my " Nokia 6110-Navigator ".!!

I know in the settings I can just turn the Operator Logo to " Off " ... But I wanna put in a custom pic, even if it's in Black N White.!!

Any chance of finding out how to put our own Custom-Pic for " S60 3rd Edition " Phones.?? - I have SExplorer installed, so I can see inside most folders.!!
* Tho my Logo is found in C:/System/Apps/OpLogoTMD/Logo/NoLogo/NoLogo.nol - " How do I successfully insert MY Custom-Pic into that folder.?? " - Any Idea's.??

Posted by: angel_wing0

i guess we will have to wait for fexplorer...

Posted by: Deligon

Well, all FExplorer did was copy the bitmap into the directory and renamed it to the carrier code. The N95 is drm'd everywhere. Hopefully there will be a way.

Posted by: angel_wing0

so guess answer is no
