Hey all , yeah im a newbie with probably a newbie question. I just switched back to Verizon and got the VX6000. I'm still waiting for my Cable and software to come in the mail to upload ringer etcs to my phone. Anyway my question is , Is there a way to upload MP3's or just songs that have words to them ?? I heard other phones can do this just wasnt sure if it was possible with 6000, thanks

http://tones.dulciprajna.net/howto.htm shows you how to create and upload tones to your phone that you, yourself, sample. however, the ringtones made through this fashon are bad at best....

i am currently in the processes of making a tutorial on how to make midi ringtones for your phone. the tones i have made using the process i will be describing for this are located @ http://miditones.dulciprajna.net/. when i have the tutorial for this completed (within a few days), it will reside @ http://miditones.dulciprajna.net/howto.htm. hope this is helpful.

Hey prajna,

Thanks for the tut... it all works fine but when I send the midi to my phone, the volume is really low even when the ringer is set to high.
Is there a correct setting in Sound Forge that is best for playback on the phone?

Thanks

T

prajna what are u talking about it sounds fine if u know what u are doing.....all u have is get a mp3 bring it in a wave editor and take the chorus or some part like 1min long and cut it n save that as a mp3 n then just make it like 48 bitrate n it plays on external speaker on high perfectly fine....send it with data cable to ringers.....works beautifully over here i dunno what the problem is for everyone else but mine holds 8 songs n plays like the radio n problem with bas or anything sounds great actually

what i have talking about (which you didnt seem to read over the tutorial) is that you need the data cable to make your ringers sound good. if you upload them via vzwpix, they ring from your ear peice, not the external speaker, so they are very quiet. they dont sound good, either, through that speaker. my tutorials are geared towards someone w/o a data cable.

because of that, i am more partial towards the midi ringtones made this way. i think they sound much louder, and are very small, and easier to work with....
