X70 Users? Need Help!

If anyone out there is an X70 Owner, PLEASE tell me that this phone is not missing one of the most rudimentary features that virtually EVERY phone has and that I'm stupid and just don't know how to access it.

Feature: Last Dialled Numbers, Last Received Numbers, Last Missed Numbers.

I have looked menu to menu and can't find it anywhere.

And, while I have your attention, possibly you could help me a bit with the Voicemail:

Is there an easier path to "call VM" than to go through like four layers of menus? A one touch solution? Also, because I am blessed with Cingular's non-support and a foreign phone, I have the same old "English Pound" sign (the funny "L"...I'm too lazy to find and post the correct character) as an indicator for my VM number. I am stumped as to how to edit that number and how to get this phone to recognize "pauses" while I make certain that my VM box has answered before transmitting tones for password.

On the plus side, I have gotten BT, IR, and GPRS and E-Mail to work!!

Relax, don't worry, the function is here.

Press the send button while the phone is on the idle screen, and it will let you choose, Last Call, Received Call and Unanswered Call.

Mic325:

You made my Christmas with that response. Sure would be nice if Pana had bothered to document that "little" feature in their User Manual.

Now, about that mod regarding the VM indicator (the £ sign)...anyone have ideas about how to be rid of that and to substitute the actual number (which I can associate with that sign...so it does work already just want something more visually intuitive). Is there a firmware mod that can fix this issue which I have with my t68i (a HK phone) and have seen others post about as well.

Also, is there a faster way to get to the "Call VM" function (assuming there's not a recently missed call blinking in which case its easy to access) than plowing through the multiple menus currently necessary?

In short, I like the phone pretty well but the camera does suck. Now, if I could just get familiar enough with its functions to fully enjoy it. Purchased off eBay from a Bulgarian source through NYC.

Well with the GD (and most phones in general) you could dial your voicemail by pressing and holding "1". I don't see why it shouldn't work with the X70.

Sorry I can't help you with the pound symbol.

Yes, you can call the voicemail by pressing key #1, but you need to store your voicemail number in the phone and assign to it position #1 in your phonebook, than you'll be able to keep key #1 pressed for a couple of seconds and the voicemail number will come up on the screen at that point press the send button and it will call your voicemail. It's one more step than other phones but faster that go through the menu. I don't know about the pound sign, I have the problem that the voicemail icon is always on the screen even if I don't have new messages, I don't know how to get rid of that. Everything else works fine. Hope that helps.

I dial 123 SEND to reach my voicemail.

Don't have the voicemail icon problem.

Purchased locally but I believe mine was originally sourced from Asia.

I have low expectations of any camera phone and leave the photo-taking to my 4MP digicam.

I really wonder what that voicemail icon problem is since not everybody seems to have it

Posted by: Tucker74

Well, I mentioned the origin of mine (Asia) to suggest maybe its just a quirk of the European providers' VM function? Perhaps others with Asian sourced X70s can chime in.

Posted by: markogin

I believe mine is an Europen version since it supports a bunch of European languages including mine (Italian) which I like to have in my phone. I really like the phone though, just need to get rid of that icon.

people the voice mail sign can be erased if you go to your sms messages inbox and delete the messages individually.

Posted by: markogin

I'll try that but I don't think I have any SMS message left there. Besides, I think you are talking about the little envelope icon, which is the icon that pops up when you receive an SMS. This damn icon is the one that you would usually see on the #1 key of your phone for voicemail. It came up when I put my sim card in the phone even before receiving any message!! Thanks for your help I'll try that tomorrow, I don't have the phone with me now, I am using the S55 and I'm not home. You would make my new year's eve if you are right!!
