MP3 Ringtone - Help Please

So I just received my usb cable, so I tried to upload mp3 ringtones to my LG VX6000

I tried to look up these answers using search forums, but being on 56k makes the whole process a nightmare, sorry if this is all repetitive!

Questions.
1) Does the mp3 file need to be a specific size?

2) Do i keep the file extension as .mp3? Does it have to be all numbers (i.e. 123.mp3 instead of beatles.mp3)?

3) Does mp3 have to be a sepecific format (hz, mono, etc)?

I have tried many different variations and power cycling the phone.. nothing seems to work. I dont get any errors from bitpim so there doesnt seem to be anything wrong from that end.
