Hey people i just got a gd88 data cable and it came with no software!!! and i can seem to have any licky searching around on the net, anyone know where i can get the drivers and software so my computer can reconigse the cable, all i want for now is too be able to upload my pics and basic stuff.... any info would be great thanks nate...

Damn dude. You waited a whole 8 minutes before posting a second time? Give it a chance. Like bubba said, give more info on the cable. What brand, what type. USB or Serial? Did you try to use the Edit tool provided by Panasonic on their website? Most people use that for simple upload/download.

If it's Serial cable, you don't need drivers and it should work with theEdit Tool.

yeh sorry i was just a little eager! lol, well im using windows2000pro and the data cable is a no name just says GD88 USB data cable, i have tried the panasonic site and also GD87it.com and no luck, well i think i need drivers!

i tryed there as well, it cant seem to find the phone!

if it helps i've stuck it into a USB port at the back

if it says PA GD88 on the phone connector end of the cable, you might have the same one as me.

it uses a PL2303 serial to usb chip

win98, winME, win2k, and winXP

make sure you choose the right drivers

well a little sticker PAN-GD88 with a litttle arrow and the that 2030 thing, on the cd it came with i put it in and all and it said please unplug cable before installing, and i did that, tryied again and it said the same thing!!!! well i'll try your site now ...

okay, remove any prior drivers that you have installed in your system, via the Add/Remove program

unplug the cable

reboot

plug cable in after you return to windows

windows should detect a USB device

point windows to your extracted driver folder

click ok

it should load up the drivers now.. reboot

and you're good to go

hey yay it finally worked but its only working in this dogey * edit tool software ** and that only alows me to edit the phone book, there is a data icon but its blank when you click on it, i also downloaded a good program called **phone manager ** and thats all the functions but it wont let me change the com port of where the cables pluged in!! its stuck on 5 and i dont know with port on my pc is 5, do you know of any other good software?

that phone manager program dont work with the cable that you have, stick to the panasonic edit tools program till something better comes along.

all that you really need to do is edit the address book and upload and download pictures and midi files...edit tools is all you need

search on google.com for crack2d for unlocking, winmodo, for firmware flashing, and cb2000 for changing/resetting phone settings...

enjoy...search this site for firmware and game software links..

click on the data folder on the left hand side and the folder button on the upper right hand side...everything will be upload to your recieved folder on your phone. make sure your phone is idling and not in the menu screens

i still cant get my cord to work

. when i connect to handset manager, all it says at the bottom is "trying to connect to the handset". i checked my hardware profiles, and it says "prolific usb to serial com port" is there anything i am missing? how do i turn off phone broadcast? any help would be appreciated. thank you for your time
