Would like to be able to sync AvantGo on my Palm device using GPRS thru IrDA. All attempts at this have failed and Cingular's tech support has been no help.

Phone browser works fine over GPRS but cannot seem to get anything to work thru the modem of the S56. Palm device goes thru Dialing and Sign-on dialgoues and then gives a 'PPP Timeout' error.

My acct has both data and Wireless Internet Express. I have also setup the Network and Connection prefs on the Palm-side. Any help is greatly appreciated.

ok, here are the settings which work with my s45i and s55:
connection: connect to PC, via IR the rest is default.
network: yuor providers DNS addreses, IP automatic
the script:
Send:ATZ
Send CR:
Send: AT+CGDCONT=1,"IP","your_APN"
Send CR:
Delay: 1
Wait for: OK
Send: ATD*99***1#
Send CR:
Wait For: CONNECT
End:

if that won't work try to change "Delay" value for 2 or more.

Been really crazy at work lately, so I am just now getting to try out your suggestion. It worked the first time with the info you furnished! I have literally spent hours on the phone with my provider that yeilded nothing. You took a few minutes to post your reply and problem solved! I can't thank you enough...
