IR Problem Connecting to X70

I am having trouble using the X70 Handset Manager. When I open the application it suggests disabling Cell Broadcast Messages and staying on the main screen. I have done that, but the application will not connect to the IR port on my IBM Thinkpad laptop running Windows XP - the application just says "trying to connect to handset".
I know the IR port on the Thinkpad works because it can automatically detect my Palm Tungsten.
Any suggestions as to what is wrong?

I have had this problem...
It's a really bad bug in the software of the phone. Delete lots of photos from your phone until you only have less than 30 of them. It should be able to connect to handset manager after that.

Thanks Crazzy. I resolved the issue - it looks like for some strange reason I have to go into Connections and Infrared Dialup and Start - then point it towards my laptop before it will connect with the handset manager.
P.S. Looks like you are Canadian too (using Rodgers AT&T). Have you been able to get the browser to work? I am so new to this WAP, GPRS thing - I'm not sure where to start. I'm using FIDO by the way.
Thanks.
