Hi, i just got a new slyder with software version nu1.0.10 and it looks like VM has set up the software so that you cannot access any other wap other than vm xtras. I think you need a slyder with a serial that begins with 06901 or 06903, the 06905's don't work with the URL/contact trick

Not true, read my replay to your other post.

I know its true now, I just exchanged the slyder I had, for the last older one in town, and have not had one problem with any wap. THE NEW SLYDERS CANNOT ACCESS WAP!!!!!!!

It's not true!! My sister's Slider has NU1.0.00 and her serial number starts with 06901 and the free WAP won't work!!!!!

The wap is working fine for me, i got my phone yesterday and i enables the security and then i went to hotmail site and i got in..I also have slider(MTV) and version nu1.0 but when i got my phone there was one 1 left after mine.. so my wap works okay..now i just need some more wap sites..

YOU GUYS ARE READING IT WRONG, BELIEVE ME THERE IS A DIFFERENCE BETWEEN SOFTWARE VERSION 1.0.10 ( DOES NOT WORK ) AND SOFTWARE VERSION 1.0.00. YOU THINK I'M REFERRING TO JUST 1 VERSION, BUT I'M NOT STUPID, I JUST TRACKED DOWN THE ONLY VERSION 1.0.00 PHONE LEFT HERE IN TOWN. 1.0.10 IS THE VERSION THAT DOESN'T WORK

there's really no need to shout! for star's sake. we GET what you are trying to say. other people are just saying that just b/c you have the 1.0.00 or whatever doesn't guarantee it will work! It's just logic.

Edit: it's Slider not Slyder.

how can you tell which is the right one to buy? im planning on going this weekend to buy the slider, do i look on the back at the serials and the nu #?

Posted by: thepindoctor

I have a slider and the version number is nu 1.00.00 and the wap works, my borther came over today and her got a slider which i told him to get one, and he went to all the stores around there that sell them and they didnt have anymore left. But bestbuy got a new shipment in which is where he went to get his and it has verision nu 1.00.10 which the wap doesnt work on it. he can only do the virgin extras and mtv and vh1 stuff. He also got his number transfered from cricket to virgin and it only took a few hours. but with no wap on his phone he stil likes it tho.

I jsut bought my Slider at Circuit City two days ago, I just happened to get version NU1.0.00, Wap is working for me just fine, guess I lucked out in getting the older version.

What are the other differences between the SW versions?
