OK so if I just change the file ext to .mid from .mp3 I can get some MP3 clips to work as ringers. My friend said they have to be a certain bitrate and frequency in order to work correctly. Does anyone know what works best to have these come out correctly?

I got the VX6000 Data Cable and you can just upload mp3's straight to the VX6000, as is. From my experiance there is no need to change the file extention if you have the data cable. I have right now, 5, one meg, mp3's on my phone, all set as ringers for the norm ringer and contacts ringer. It works very well and I am also using BitPim 6.

for superior quality and sound make it 22hz and 32kbps ... it makes it nice and small!!!

Is that (5) 1 meg files or (5) files equalling 1 meg?

zero, did you notice your battery going down much faster with all the mp3 there?

I put 2.5MB and I noticed that I had to charge it more frequently. But it could be because I was playing them all the time just to show off.

I have since cut it down to under 1MB.

i havent noticed any battery difference, but there is a significant startup delay with more mp3 ringers... i have about 8mb loaded and about another 400k in midi ringers... about 30 total ringers (using the map trick).. i am experiencing problems with my memory that apparently no one else is though... i cant run any apps because it says i have no memory, and when i check my memory it says like 420k/420k with 0 memory left. its weird... i think its because i have the extra ringers mapped to the brew folder... not sure exactly because after i loaded them it said like 420k/1.60mb but i got a few text messages and suddenly it says 420k/420k.... its all screwy so be careful how many you load. i would say you can load a ton into the mms directory just be careful if you are mapping and load into the brew directory.....
