So, what's the 5150 going for these days? Does anyone have a source they can get one.. I wouldn't mind selling mine and getting a newer model. I'd like the new firmware (and less scratches.

I haven't seen them retail for less than $299 yet (I'll omit the US$ designation since Telus still doesn't sell them). You can check ebay but I think they're still $230 - $270 new there. I have seen used ones sell in local online classifieds for just barely under $200, though they did sell very quckly.
Do I understand correctly that you're thinking of selling your 5150 to get another one that's in better condition with newer firmware? If that's the case, I'd say wait 'till they iron out the firmware issues and then get it flashed for free from Sprint, or else wait for the Samsung A500. Just MHO.

mv,
Normally, I wouldn't think of selling mine. I'm just playing around with the prices in my head. If I had an option to get a new one and maybe have to pay a few bucks more, then I probably would.
Of course, if Sanyo would just come out with a new 3G version of the 5150, then all problems solved.
(Mine is also kinda scratched up and dinged.)

sanyo is coming out with a 3g version of the 5150 and from the looks of it it will have a digital cam as well as many other improvements....no word on a date but figure shortly after the 3g launch or in early fall.

the 5150 is already 3g data and voice, but it will not support new features and services like the smv codec and j2me downloads. the new version will also have a-gps positioning.

I though 5150 was only 3G voice....

the latest software upgrade enabled the 3g voice and data. ##040793 menu save phone number. then got to set rate. if it has a(1x) next to it and lists several packet data options you are all set for july 4th. if it only lists 9.6 and 14.4 as options you need a software upgrade.

Which software upgrade version is 3g ready for the 5150?

Amazon is offering $270 in rebates making the phone only $30
