VX6000 Mp3's Cannot Erase

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

Hey everyone,

I have been able to add MP3s successfully to my VX6000 but when I try to erase them off the phone it doesn't. If I try to erase them, you cannot hear the song anymore but the file still exists under the phone menus.

Does anyone know how to erase them from the phone?

Thx

i have no problem erasing them through Bitpim.

There is several ways to slove it but the most straight to the point is go to where the music files are stored through bitpm and backup that particular directory. Then go to your phone and do an erase all on your music files. Then go back to bitpm and erase 3 files under the dloaded/dlindexfiles. I am not sure about the actuall directory sorry on a mac and do not have the files right now. But I know you are looking for a dloaded directory and not the one under the brew directory. Then you want to delete the files that do not mention images. Once you are done power down your phone and then power it up. It will take a little longer to power up because it has to rebuild those 3 files once they are done. Go back and restore the music files that you backed up earlier. Make sure you uncheck the file names that were not working post any questions and I will get on my pc to make sure i told you right.

Thank u very much recee....It worked very well. I finally erased those annoying ringers that didn't even work. (Make sure you backup the files on your phone with bitpim first) Then I erased all of the ringtones I had. Then I went to Filesystem in Bitpim and went to Download then Dloadindex and erased the three files that had Ringer on them. Make sure u delete only those and not the ones with the Image on the filename. Powered off the phone and on again. And It all worked fine..Again thanx to Recee for this...
