Does anyone know whether this phone support MP3 ringtones or not??

I don't think so.

It definitely does not. But you can use wav files, which work pretty well.

Would WAV Play the same sound as MP3 Does? I Mean play real music songs?

It sure will. I set the ringtone for when my wife calls me to the theme from Married With Children which I made from an mp3. File size is the biggest consideration, since wav files are much, much larger then a comparable mp3.

I See,
But Does it sound just like a real CD song with the singer's voice too?

Yes.....everything, wav is better than mp3, its just that mp3 is compressed sound quality is a little worse, and wav has a much larger file size. you can convert a mp3 into wav and use it......most newer phones use wav now, especially symbian phones like a s60 phone.

IC IC,
Anyway, Thanx Much 4 The Info Guys, and
no more doubt this would be the kinda phone 4 me, and I'll definitely get SX1 over the P900.

That's a real oversight for Siemens not to build in the feature for MP3's to be played as ringtones. Even the new V series from Moto will play mp3's.

Well,
As you all know guys, each brand name has got its pros and cons, and there's not even a thing in this world that's 100% perfect, so I don't think we're supposed to judge from only that point. Hope u all agree with me.

Given how CPU intesnse playing an mp3 is, it doesn't surprise me that this isn't a feature. I tried to play an mp3 while I had my phone hooked up to the USB port and the audio got choppy.

plus with the expandable memory size is not really an issue. mp3 is just convient. You only need 10 secs anyways..

if you don't mind the crashing, keypad and pricetag i'd say go for it. but at the current price i'd rather buy a n6600 or p900.
the SX1 is way to pricey.
hot swap and stereo are not worth an extra $200-300

I also find it no problem as I can edit my sound bits for 10-15 seconds for just ringing tones.
But a 128 MB MMC is just a bit tiny, with all the apps I installed so far, anyways...
hope siemens will support SD card with their upgrades for the phone in the future... not really sure if its a hardware thing though, as some have reported theirs working?
I have a SanDisk 512 SD card just waiting to be abused! Originally bought for the SPV e200, which I had up and running for 1-2 weeks, yet returned due to the poor call quality.
The SX1 has proven to be much better on this point, yet the e-mail sync feature from the SPV (microsoft smartphone os) was a nice thing, that we can only hope siemens improved with upgrades as well.
