Well as the topic read i fudged up my friends GU87. ("nbc" should see this and laugh! LOL anyways)

I Had A38 AT&T customized firmware on it. I wanted to just unlock it so she can use it on T-Mobile that she has now (says she spent lots of money and don't want it to be a paperweight) So I got the cable (thanx nbc) then was told to downgrade to A22 first then use that Crack2D program then i can reflash with WinMoDo and CB2000 if so required. First thing went fine... everything all good.. should have stopped there. But nooo i saw A53 firmware on the site i was pointed to and wanted to try that out so i did. I flashed and that's all good but it was german with Vodafone stuff... I tried changing the language but English wasn't an option! Damn.. so i went back to A22 still no english so i'm like WTF.. A39 samething (as well as bugs) so back to A22 i go and bam!

I was flashing with it and it went all the way to the language part and was 500K out of 1200K or so then it said "Download FAILED" and i checked the phone and the green light was flashing. I figured ok, retry flashing the phone with the language since the Main was completed as well as the boot. Now No boot at all or anything.

My guess tho is that the battery is dead (cuz it was weak and i had to charge it couple times - yes i'm dumb for that) I've read that charging the battery in another phone then poppin it back in this one while flashing it should be a cure but is there anything else?

And the other thing being how do i get English back on this thing?

Can i also remove Vodaphone stuff in A53 and use the default Panasonic boot screen?

(yes i know this was long but it's either that or 3 different threads. LOL )

Thanx..

You need to find a language pack that contains english. And the thing with the battery u need to put a fully charged one in the phone use that one to reflash it.

Hope this helps.

See sticky at top of forum titled:

End of the confusion about GU/GD 87/88

"Language packs:
Two things come into play here:
1. Languages physically loaded into the phone. Different language packs contain different language sets as requested by different carriers. They are keyed to specific software releases.
2. Languages activated as part of the feature set. Although the language may be physically loaded, it may not be active per the carrier's request. Flashing new firmware or loading a new language pack will not fix this.
Note: Although every mobile has english loaded as the base language, even the menus may have different text depending on whether American English or the queen's english is configured. Same with Spanish, French and Portuguese, there are differnt dialects depending on carrier requirements.

Activated Features:
Although two mobiles may share the same software version. Menus may appear in different orders or may not appear at all. For example, Vodafone mobiles will probably not have the feature to SMS to an email address while AT&T will. AT&T will have two preloaded games while most Vodafone mobiles have infusio active. Just because it does not look the same does not mean that it is not the same. It is at the discretion of the carrier and how the mobile was upgraded (if applicable)"

So you should be able to use CB2000, and enable/activate english in the options, or remove the other languages.....
