Audiovox DICZ800 Data Cable on CDM-8600?

Hi guys,

I've been lurking here for a while. With the help of this site, I decided to get an Audiovox CDM-8600.

I'm wondering if anyone knows whether the Audiovox DICZ800 CDM-7900 Data Cable will work on a CDM-8600?

The DIC8300 is $20 US though... whereas you can get the DIC-Z800 for under $5 on eBay.

I had read somewhere that all Audiovox Data cables were interchangable among all models. I guess that is wrong information?

Yes,

The DIC-1100 will work with the Audiovox 8600. There are many threads stating that.

However, None mention the DIC-Z800. There are tons of these available on eBay for $4.99. I'd love to know if anyone experimented with this cable.

I've read that all Audiovox cables should work with all Audiovox phones. I'm not sure how much truth there is to that statement however...

That would surprise me since different models are made by completely different manufacturers.
