Hello,

Recently, I am having fun of putting MP3s into my VX6000. I usually make a clip from a song with 22khz,mono,16bit. Some of tutorials say that you need to use 8khz, but I found that the quality(8khz) is not acceptable for me. However, by converting 22khz, I have nice & clear quality with acceptable file size. And I really love it. If I make 1 minutes mp3 clip using the configuration, the file size is about 500kb.

In addition, I found that I don't need to rename the filename to .mid. I can just make a mp3 and upload it on using data cable.

I tried to put midi into the phone and had fun with them. It was clear. I also tried making .qcp files and played them. However, the sound quality is so poor. And the converter won't convert .wav file to .qcp if the wav quality is more than 8khz.

I know that it is not matter of the number of mp3, but size of the memory in VX6000. I have tried to put 4 x 600kb mp3 files into the phone and didn't have problem yet.

I want to know what is the maxinum space of the memory that I can put the mp3? Anyone know?

Thank you,

As far as I know the phones total memory is around 8mb. But this does not mean that you can put 8mb of stuff on it. That is for all the programes and files that are already on the phone. I think it would be safe to put around 6mb on it. I also notice that with more info I put on the phone(mp3's, bmps, exe) that it makes the phone lag bit when starting it up. I also found that you can put a full mp3 on it. The thing is it usaly only rings for about 35-30 sec. before going into voice mail so with longer mp3's it is a wast of space.
