panasonic x70 picture quality

Ok, this has probably been covered in another thread somewhere, but i feel i have just gotta get it off my chest, as panasonic do not appear to acknowledge a problem, nor does my service provider(orange uk).
I was very impressed by the picture quality and features of a friends phone (panasonic gd87), and was considering buying one, when i heard about a new model on the horizon(panasonic x70). So i waited for the new model and bought one at considerable expense. Imagine my dismay when i realised that this so called new (and improved) model took absolutely appalling quality pictures in anything but perfect lighting conditions. And yes , i know its got a photo light but its rubbish as well. In a direct comparison with my mates gd87 my camera takes much poorer quality pics. My big question is this : should i downgrade to a gd87 instead of keeping my x70??
I am aware i wont have the bluetooth capability, and dont need it, and i know the gd87's battery life is poor, but i am so annoyed about the pic quality that i am prepared to sacrifice one or two things in return for a good quality pic.
Any comments would be very welcome........thank you in advance

i think it's up to what u need... BT is important to me so i won't let go.

just tried comparing wif GD88(87) yesterday, i then realised that, X70 camera is really worse than wat i expected. the pic taken using GD88 and X70, GD88 one look much nicer...

this is so called.... "improvement"?
