Does anyone have any info on the NEC 515? It looks like an awesome phone. When is it coming out?

Seems like everyone wants to know about that....well, if you can wait a little longer, NEC told me that the 515 will be released sometime the end of this year...you can also try checking their website from time to time to see if there are any updates...Aloha for now!!

I found myself very intrigued with the news of NTT DoCoMo of Japan, having a 16% stake (ownership) in AT&T Wireless, so I figured if NTT DoCoMo, who supplies it's customers with the HOTTEST phones in the world, is investing in AT&T ? then we should see some pretty cool phones, which compete with Sprint PCS, pretty soon, so I e-mailed an mMode representative, specificaly asking them about the NEC 515, and he quickly responded to my e-mail, by telling me that the NEC 515, as well as other colored screen "clamshell" designed "cool" phones should be washing up on the shores of the US pretty soon! So in conclusion, all of the people who love those hot Sprint PCS phones, Do not fall into a Contract just as yet... AT&T Wireless, in partnership with NTT DoCoMo of Japan will start to kick up dust, as far as High Speed services and "COOL " handsets... so keep AT&T in your vision, for this year!!!

Acutally its coming out On AUG~ SEPT>. but i tho they will juts dely for a few month.. so i tho... it will be around Nov.. and Simpro will have it.. around $400~~ or higher... not sure yet...
In Europ.. they can preorder it already.. and they will also ship to Canada.. if you wanna buy it from preorder then...here is the site ~~ good luck guys~~

It's not that expensive if it's around $400.

According to the reps from NEC representing the NEC 515 that I have talked to, claim that the 515 will first be released in the UK in the 4th Quarter of 2002. This may explain why I cannot find the phone anywhere on the US portal site of NEC. I wonder why NEC is so "hush hush" with regard to the 515. I & many others would jump through hoops of fire to get that fricken phone....

i asked NEC and they said....expect to ship late this year or early next.
