I'm using a sony ericsoon HBH-35.
Does bluetooth need to be on the entire time you are waiting to receive a call? With the T68i bluetooth could be off and when the phone rang it would check to see if a headset was in range.
Seems abit harsh that you have to have bluetooth enabled for a 5 hour journey for example, battery would soon get canned surely?

IMHO, BT stays in a passive mode, unless what you find in Nokia phones. BT in SE phones do not stay in an always connected mode, and setting it on only means it stays discoverable, and it checks for a paired BT headset only when a call comes in.
So far, I haven't experienced significant battery drain from leaving BT on. In the older SE phones such as the T68i, BT could be set to always on, auto, or off. In the P900, it's either on or off, and since I use a BT headset with my set, I leave it on all the time.

I believe BT needs to be on all the time. Once that icon is gone or the phone goes outta the range of the headset, you'll need to pair again. At least from my own experience.

I think you have a buggy set if you need to pair again once the headset goes out of range. Pairing is a one-time, fairly permament affair, as far as my unit is concerned, and ditto for my past phones, 2 Ericsson T39s, 1 T68i, and a Nokia 8910.

Do u leave ure bluetooth always enabaled on the phone?

Yup. Always on, since I use a BT headset, and dial-up from my iPaq 3970, among other things like sending pics to and from my friends' phones.
