whats the best cable

i have searched around but i can't really find the answer i am looking for. from reading other threads i know that some data cables are actual serial even though they have a usb connector. i guess the way to tell is if the cable has the box in the middle. is that right? now serial is slow and i will be using the cable for internet access (en) on my laptop.

my question is (for a vx6000)

what is the best cable that is true usb ( not serial) and where do i get it. futuredial has it for cheap but i read that their cables are serial. it looks like the rpiwireless is a true usb cable.

cost really isn't much of a factor i just don't want to end up with a slow cable.

thanks

::edit::

i also found this cable that someone suggested at the mac cellphone group at yahoo. its suppose to work well and the software that comes with it is suppose to do all the work for you. anybody ever use it?

See lots of links found using in thread below:

I think there are currently only 2 TRUE-USB cables. Charging or non-charging.

yea i searched all over thats how i found out that the futuredial cables were serial not usb. most if not all the threads about cables that deal with using the cable for bitpim not internet use. if thats what i was doing then i wouldn't care what cable i got cause i don't care about how fast i transfer a ringtone to my phone. since verizons express network is fast i dont want to be stuck with a serial cable that is going to limit my speed.

I got my VX6000 USB cable from here http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dl...&category=50327

I'm very pleased with the cable it charges up your phone, and comes with a lot of software on the CD.

Yeah, the other thread had a link to another thread that had speed comparison between multiple cables. I don't think a cable that is slow for bitpim can be faster than a faster-bitpim-cable while used for internet. Probably due to driver/cable protocol. But to summarize the other threads anyways, straight USB is probably the best. Same as Kevin_M, I got mine from eBay/Freedomnet. One version charges your phone via USB (may eat up your laptop battery), or the other kind that does not charge the phone.
