VPN/https on P800?

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

When I'm out of a Hotspot and want to sit down and have Internet, I enjoy using my P800 as a modem via infrared. However, I've noticed that I can't browse any SSL/https sites. Likewise, I can't make any VPN's work. POP3 and http sites work great.

Is the T-Mobile GPRS network not capable of secure traffic? Do I have something setup wrong? Does T-Mobile need to change something with my account?

To my knowledge only P900 has a VPN client built in. Concerning HTTPS perhaps this can be of any help.

Thank you for the help. The https/SSL and VPN sites I visit pretty much require a large screen. So in those instances I'm using the P800 as a modem only.

Laptop via Infrared to P800 to GPRS is the connection.
The VPN client is on the laptop. Everything works except for secure sites. HTTPS sites come back not found. VPN client will connect, but using VPN items (corporate Outlook) through the secure tunnel doesn't work.

Sorry, missed the laptop thing in your first post. Can't give you any further assistance.

Have you tried to ask this question at

www.my-symbian.com or http://www.sonyericsson.com/develop...home/p_home.jsp (select Tech Support Tab and then Symbian UIQ) ? Lot of skilled P800/P900 users there (you need to be registered at both places).

Hope somebody else can help you out.
