Ok.. some of this info is available to the general public, some is not. I'm gonna change that though.

This will tell you how to get your SPC, which can be used to program the 9100 as many times as needed, not just once.

It will also tell you how to figure out a phone lock password if you forgot yours (or if you ..erm... "found" a phone that's locked.)

Last but not least, instructions on how to get into programming mode.

The only thing not mentioned here is changing the ESN#, which you need software and hardware to do - it can't be done from the handset as far as I know. Here goes nothin:

How do I find out the Service Programming Code?

Manual retreival of SPC:

Switch the phone on

Push and hold RCL, 2, and *, then press END.

You will enter TEST mode

Type 218, then hit SEND.

You will see READ ADDR?

For Audiovox 9100 (and 9150/9155) type in 006DC, 006DD,
006DE. You have to do them one at a time. To get the alpha characters, press the shift key and hit the corresponding number (1=A, 2=B, etc...)

In each adress are two digits. put all six in a row and voila - you've got the SPC!

Lost your Phone Lock password? This is a little known
secret to find out the lock code for a handset if it
has been changed from the factory default of "1234"

To get to the security code, press and hold RCL, 2, and
*... then hit end. punch in 128, then press SEND. A series
of numbers will appear on screen - the 2nd, 4th, 6th,
and 8th digits are the security code!!! It took me
hours of harassment and the pulling of a few strings to
get this info, and now I'm just giving it away!

How do I program my Audiovox 9100??

Programming the phone:

Power on the phone. Then enter the SPC code (find it
using above method) and press F, #, 7. The phone should say "Programming Unlocked!"

As soon as you've done that, enter 289, F, #, 1. This will get you into the actual programming mode. I think you all know what to do from there.

WOOHOO!
I'm the MAN!!!!

Thanks for the info. I have a 9155-GPX and when I enter the codes you (006DC, 006DD, 006DE) provided for the SPC code nothing happens. Am I missing a key stroke? Thanks.

wow...my first post for a few months...

Anyways, hit the speaker button after putting in the hex number...then re-enter 218 and do the next one.
