Bitpim problem please help!

I have lg vx600 cable from ebay... and bitpim installed but...
Okay, problem w/ bitpim... I get the error message :

Lg-VX4400 on COM1: the
phone is not responding while tranitioning mode from none to brew see the
help for troubleshooting tips.

But all the help says is: "something has
gone wrong w/ the fone, the dialoug gives the details

help please!

is the cable installed properly? all the drivers in place?
what version of bitpim did you use? With a vx6000 you should be using at LEAST 0.62 (which is the newest working version of bitpim)

I have .62

this is the cable i got

and the drives came on a cd with it, and i think they work correctly... in case they dont is there anywhere else i can download them??

seeing that bitpim says somethng about the vx4400 i am thinking that you don't have the bitpim version .062 that is made for the vx6000

I downloaded the one for the lg 6000, and got the same message, expcept it said lg vx 6000 instead of 4400

.... What port do you use to do this.... WHen i go into settings I can only select port 1, it says port 4 is in use... ?

NEver mind i have found the problem ... it was that i have a palm , os iahve hotsync that always starts up with my computer, and it was keeping the port from working properly... this is such a gr8 cable!!!
