How do you charge your battery?

Have always heard different opinions on how to charge ION batteries:

1. Fully charge and discharge regularly (at least 5 times initially)

or

2. Don't let the battery discharge completely, the sweet spot is about 15-20%.

What is the best method? Let charge over night, only for a couple of hours, completely discharge, or charge at a certain point?

Thanks in advance...

I was always told to use option 1, but I messed up the battery on a Nokia 3650 and on an SL56 that way. Charging your battery that way can cause it to get overcharged, then your phone will power off seemingly at random. I usually just wait till my battery has about a quarter charge or so and then throw it on the charger overnight. I haven't had any problems since then.

I have an SL55 that I just began to use in the US on T-Mobile...

So far, after charging the battery for a few hours (supposedly fully charged), I've had the phone on for about 15 hours. I've been using the different functions (i.e. internet, email) a bit here and there. I'm already down to a half charge on the indicator...

How long are your SL55/56 batteries lasting for?

Siemens batteries are not known for their longevity. I returned my M55 due to pathetic battery life I was receiving from it, even after 3 weeks of properly charging it. I went back to using Nokia as my main phone & a C56 as my prepaid backup phone, which by the way lasts twice as long as it did on the M55 ( they use the same 700Mah battery)

hmmm... well, I guess it's a good idea to buy a second battery... I still love this phone though... battery life was never a major criteria for my choice, lol...

Thanks...
