SL56 crashing issue

Anyone else have an SL56 where it will crash from time to time? Also after it crashes I turn it on again and it says it is searching for the network and it flashes the connection bars in the upper left(they fluctuate between 2 and 4 bars while it flashes) and the "menu" widgets don't appear. Also after it crashes if it does find the network correctly, the menu buttons are still gone and 3-4 restarts are requried to get the menu's back. Is this common or is my phone defective. I've done a live chat with AT&T(who I got the phone from) and they said I should return it.

Sometimes the phone will beep at me twice and lose the menus as well...Is this just a defective SL56? Any advice? Thanks!

Has no one had this problem? On another forum(club-siemen.com) I've found at least one person with the same problem.
Maybe there just aren't that many people with the SL56.

I think when they shipped that box of phones some of them got messed up. When I first got my sl56 it crashed before I even left the store. It had white lines across the screen when I turned it back on. They replaced it and I have not had any problems yet.

This happens to me constantly. I have cingular and they have horrible service. I notice that it happens in places where the service is pretty bad and sometimes with certain numbers. Sometimes this happens 8 times in a day and sometimes not at all. But it is pretty frustrating. If anyone knows a fix please post it.
