I have few questions regarding CDM8600.

1. I setup voicedial and either press SEND or FLIP OPEN not working. What step did I miss?

2. Even the person in my phonebook to call me, outer LCD showed phone number, not the person's name. Is there any way to show person's name?

3. Outer LCD shows TIME & Verizon Wireless Logo. Is there any way to show only TIME?

I have the Bell version so I hope this helps.

1. No idea as I don't have Verizon VM

2. I think that in order to see the person's name, you have to ensure that the phonebook entry has the full number. 10 digits. It will recognize the full number and match it with anything in your phonebook.

3. Choose ANALOG clock only. You'll have a clock with an hour and minute hand. That's the only other option than the DIGITAL clock as this is where they put info on.
MENU - SETTINGS - DISPLAY - SUB LCD SETTING - SUB LCD CLOCK - choose ANALOG CLOCK.

Are you just pressing SEND, or are you holding it down for several seconds? You have to hold it down. Also, have you created any voice tags for numbers in your phonebook. I trained all the voice commands, but VR would not work until I created voice tags for one or more phonebook entries.

Actually, it is not showing the Verizon Wireless logo, it is showing what network you are on. It will show either "Verizon Wireless" or "Extended Network" or "Roaming." I'm sure this is Verizon's idea of being helpful so you won't answer a "Roaming" call when you don't mean to.

However, it is extremely irritating, since whenever I want to see the caller ID of an incoming call, the display seems to always have just switched to the "Verizon" display and I have to wait.

This can be temporarily disabled by the following:

MENU-6-4-3-1-YES.

The phone will go back to the annoying mode if you lose the digital signal, if you go into an extended network or roaming area, or if you power down your phone.

Call Verizon customer service and complain about this silly and annoying "feature" - after all, you can tell if you are roaming or in extended network with the standard (but tiny) icon on the external LCD.

Hi my friend owns a cdm8600 is there anyway to load your own startup animated images on that phone? also is there a loader for wallpapers and ringtones? I searched and came up with nothing.

Regarding (1) above, you need to hold down the SEND button for about 4 seconds. As far as "flip" mode. See my posts under the heading Vr. It only works now and then.

Make sure that the number stored in your phonebook contains the full 10-digit number (i.e. with area code, without a "1" in front). Then it should work.
