So i'm in a bit of a dilemma..
I bought an SL5C in hong kong, and my mom promplty dropped it on the floor...now the left cursor and left soft keys only work when pressed really hard. I called siemens and they said i have to send it to hong kong for repair. Well that option sounds like it will take a long time, or be costly (despite the fact that it is under warrenty). I see the following possibilities:
Send it to Hong Kong....and wait
Take it apart and see if maybe the keypad is a little misaligned (but is that a hard process...I know people have had success changing the housing so i dont think it should be too hard, but where can I find a T4 screwdriver, and is that the only out of the ordinary screwdriver i need?)
thanks for your help
Ok, so i'm thinking i might buy a new sl55, send this one to hong kong, get it fixed (probably replaced...) and then selling that one, so is there any interest in a new sl5c?

well i bought a torx t4 and took everything apart...then i put it all back together w/o the keypad for the outter shell.....when i turned it on, i used a small screwdriver to test out the buttons...against the plastic covered circuit board...then i tested the buttons, and it took alot of pressure to make the left cursor and softkey work....they didnt work on the "click" sound that every other button worked on...does anyone have any ideas?

Siemens is tough to deal with when you need your phone repaired. However, I cracked a screen on my SL55 sometime ago and after going back and forth with them, I was finally able to get their Repair Center contact number. I believe the fee is a flat rate $110 to get your SL repaired. Of course I ended up buying another SL55 in the process, but at least now my fiancee has one too.
PM me for the number if you still need it.
