Disable Apps?

Can someone tell me how to disable apps on my lg vx6000?
I did a search here and tried the info I found, which directed me to "options" after you click the shopping cart in GIN, but I have no "options" choice. Only the "get it" stuff.

The threads I saw were all from mid-last year...do they not offer the disabling function any more in the current softwar version of the phone?

My memory is almost full and some of my games are slow, so I thought disabling one or two might speed it up....

thanks!

And if anyone can tell me how to get past level 21 of Fun2Link, I'd be so happy...

You need to go to settings on the screen that shows up when you hit get it now (checkmark on it). Go to manage apps, and click on the one you want to remove and the options show up. AFAIK you can't just disable them.

Yeah, I go to the settings, choose "manage apps", choose the one I want to disable, and then if I go to "remove" it says
"this will completely remove this app. Do you want to continue? YES or NO"

Thats all

I don't want to remove it, so that if I want to play it again I'll have to pay for it again.... I want to just disable it to free up some memory.

If you click the "help" in GIN, it says you can disable without removing (and not pay again when you re-enable), but doesn't say how. Same thing in the manual.

Why don't they friggin take that out of the manual if they don't allow it anymore???

Okay, I just did this on my VX4400. (Unfortunately, I don't have a VX6000 to try it on.)
  1. Push the Get It Now button.
  2. Click on the shopping cart.
  3. At the "Browsing and downloading apps uses airtime" message, push the down arrow and OK to select Options.
  4. Select the app you want to disable.
  5. There will be two options at the bottom of the screen: Disable and Remove. Select Disable.
  6. It will say "Next time you launch this app, you'll be asked to restore it from the server at no additional purchase cost. Press select key to proceed or clear key to cancel."
  7. Press OK to disable the app. The next time you use it, it will redownload it (using airtime).

I think the vx6000 must be different. When I click the shopping cart, I don't get the message that downloading apps uses airtime. It just goes to the GIN menu. I tried down arrowing anyway, but nothing happened.

That's why I was thinking the option must have been removed either for this phone, or in the latest S/W version (I got my phone just after Christmas).

I have an email in to Verizon for the instructions to disable...I'm irritated because in the Help and the manual it says you can do it, but there's no option to do it. grrrr.
