Free Games on VX6000

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

I have compared the differences to a fresh download of a demo and a played demo to an expired demo. This was the demo for "Fight Hard 3d" a game on Get it Now. The demo was for 5 minutes and the only file that changed was the ".mif" file that is not in the game directory it self but in \brew\ the report on the differences in the files are listed at the bottom of this post. I was able to write over the "mif" file with bitpim and get another 5 minutes of demo time. If we can figure out how to change these files we can effectively get the games for what they are worth..
I used winhex to compare the files.. I am going to test transfering the "mif" for the full version of tetrix from my phone to another phone and see if that works..

First of all tell us what phone your using. Second, brew 2.0 which is on the vx 6000, has copy protection, unlike brew 1.1. On the 4400 we enjoy any app full and unlimited VERY easily, but brew 2.0 users as of now can't.

You need the brew sdk program to rewrite the mif file. but as acemilo said brew 2.0 has copy protections on it. as of now brew 2 hasen't been hack. and i have a felling that this thread won't be here much longer cause we aren't suppose to talk about this stuff in here.

I have the VX6000, it isnt stopping me from copying any files..

Just once, I'd like to see a thread titled "How to steal games". If you're going to be dishonest, at least be honestly dishonest.

There are no free BREW games (that is, games you can legitimately get for free). Only stolen ones.

That would be politically uncorrect

It would be awesome tho if we could code our own programs because most of the gin games suck.

Copying files off your phone is a lot different from modifying those files and having the phone accept them. You can add and remove files all you want, that isnt the protection. The protection lies in the mif file that tells the phone how the app behaves. There is some kind of signature, or a key, or something that won't allow the phone to accept a mif that was modified by a user. On brew 1.1 however, there is no protection and we can easily modify it and have the phone accept it.

while definitely not free, you can get access to the tools needed to do your own BREW developing: www.brewdeveloper.com (resolves to qualcomm's brew developer's site)...many benefits from what i see, including them helping market your app...of course, you have to be digitally verified by verisign first...their rates start at $400 for 100 apps

Keep the Faith,

Lance

that would be illegal and that makes it so we can't give links or directions on how to to it. but you can find some Cell Phone Hacks out there.

is there any homebrew for vx6000? im guessing there are programmers that create apps and games for fun and not for monetary gain? i would do it myself, but i have no programming knowledge.

Posted by: BigFlavor

everyone head over the the forums at www.brewbackups.com for f*cks sake.

Posted by: riceboy004

i've been browsing brewbackups for a while, but no development seems to arise.

i guess im kinda used to xbox-scene.com, where new developments and discoveries pop up daily.

I wish brewbackups would post big news and new developments on the news site. I find it troublesome to scour the forums for info. just a suggestion

I would love to become a BREW developer. I just graduated college with a computer science degree. So if anyone knows where i can either download the BREW SDK or knows someone who could use some help let me know.

hey swig i think u can get the sdk here

Posted by: SWiG

I already tried that. This is the message that I got:

An issue has been encountered regarding your access to download the BREW SDK. For further assistance, please contact brew-support. The turnaround on such issues usually takes less than 24 hours during a normal work week. A support technician will contact you if more information is needed or once the issue has been resolved.

I think they want you to pay the $400.
