All i can think of is the thing that the other guy said like turn it off forty five times

A Megabyte MP3 file? Why on earth.....anyway, I'm guessing you're screwed. It sounds like you filled up the phone's memory, and now the phone doesn't have the space to do something it needs to do in order to boot properly.

Can you access the phone via BitPim, even with the error message? I'm assuming not, but it might be worth a shot.

The only other possibility is if you can figure out a way to clear the NVRAM on the phone. There may be something inside to let you reset your phone, although I'm sure you would also lose your phone settings and would have to reprogram it. It would also probably involve disassembling the phone, voiding any warranty you have left. I don't know how to do it, but I'm assuming it can be done by a service technician.

Actually it was a 900k file and the eror message i get is
FS_dir c
02251

error. It wont let me turn it off, or when i go to charge it it goes to that error also. I had 1.7 meg left on the phone until this happened.

I am wondering what happeneds if i leave the battery out for a few days will it reset or what.. Just wondering if i should call VM and ask them what to do. I saw a message that you can put mp3's on the phone and i was suscessful last night with a 1 meg file and damn it even did voices pretty good, but then i tried a different file and i get that message. So i donno..

I just called VM and i talked to them about my issue and they said we didnt even know the sliders can use a data cable and they also had no clue on what that error message is, so they told me to call Kyocera and talk to them about it. So thats what i am going to do next first thing in the morning. I cant turn the phone off when i get that error and i have to remove the battery to restart the phone. i am gonna leave the battery out over night and see what happenes, hopefully this will work, or maybe kyocera can help, if not damn i have to go and buy a new phone and hopefully i can still find the phones with nu 1.0000 on them.. Just incase if i have to buy a new phone what would i look for to see if it has a nu1.000 instead of nu1.0010 so i dont get that phone..

have you gotten the phone to work yet?? Cause the same thing happened to me. Tried to upload a screen save that was 507kb. The animation didn't play right, so I tried to delete it. When I did, the phone froze. I tried to restart it, and got that same error message. HELP!!!

Nope i couldnt get it to work, so what i did i called kyocera and they said we can format it and put the software back on and ship it back but it would take 2 weeks. Then i called virgin and they said to take it back to circuit city and get another phone, but taking the chance i would get a nu1.0010, so naaaa then i called virgin back and told them the problem and they said we can ship you a new phone or a referb so okay, i said new phone and here i was thinking i would get a 0695 instead of a 06901. So i VM did a over night shipment to me and i got the phone the next day and when i got the package it was a 06901 phone which was cool. and then i had to ship back the broken phone. So maybe they can do that also for you. I am waiting for the camera phone to come out for VM.

How do you add screen savers to the slider phone? I havent done that yet or any games, i downloaded a few games i want to put on the phone ut dont know how.

Okay I did exactly what you said. However they didn't ask me if I wanted a new phone or a refurbished phone. I assumed they'd send me a new one. But on the summary of my order it says:

Order date: 01/30/2004
Order number: VMU********
Order total: $0.00
Order status: Complete
Items ordered / quantity: Kyocera Slider Replacement (Class B phone, battery)(1)

Ship to: KEVIN GRIFFIN
(Address Provided)
Provider: FEDEX STANDARD OVERNIGHT
Tracking number: 647*********
Shipping Method: Overnight

Does that Class B phone thing mean that I'm gettin a refurbished one??

No.

Well class b might be refurbished, i seen on my order class A phone but when i got it from fedex the box had a little box in it and look on the white box and it will say what esn number it will be, but i still think my phone is a referb. The slider was alittle lose moving it side to side and i notice when it is cold out the view screen goes alittle funkey like i would see the screen alittle lighter or the image fades out slower. Also i noticed on the new phones with the esn number as 06905 the screen display is darker and more blue color.

Class B most assuredly does not mean refurbished. See my other post.

oh okay i was just going off what my phone from VM, i guess it is not like monitors they have class A and B and B's were referbs..Its different for phones..

I hope I still get to have the free wap on my phone and I don't get one of those fixed models...
