Can't get my T39M to send text messages!!!

I just got it about a few months ago...It was unlocked and works great except I can't send text messages. I'm on the T-mobile network and the T-Zones and stuff work...Also i have no clue as to setting up my e-mail...what ISP do I use and stuff? thanks fro all your help...Would I be able to find this info on my T28W? Thanks!
