Cheap Data Cables

Anyone know where I can get data cables for the Kyocera Phantom/Rave/Blade?

Doesn't have to include software and doesn't have to be an OEM cable, and can also be used if someone here is selling theirs.

Any website links/price quotes would be appreciated.

Try ebay

I did, and eBay doesn't have any cables for those models.

The cables are relatively new, but I have seen a few online accessory stores carry them, so I know it's not totally impossible to get them from somewhere other than Kyocera. Just looking for a decent deal on one, with cheap shipping.

I don't see why not

I ordered it with the software CD this Monday evening and it arrived yesterday by Fedex Saver (3 day). The Kyocera Desktop software installed easily. After installing the USB drivers that are also on the CD it recognised my phone as soon as I plugged it in.

I downloaded a couple of the polyphonic ring tones that I liked from the CD (hornpiper and flight of the bumble bee). The rest of the last night's session I spent editing my contacts and introducing my wife to the software so she could edit her contacts.

I just joined the Forum and hope to explore working with Gagin this weekend.

Kyocera Data cables are expensive! Was that the cheapest place you found Voxelman?

I didn't see anyone on ebay selling cables for the KX414. They don't seem to be in wide distribution yet and "The Wireless Source" had them in stock. Even the Kyocera store claimed that they were back ordered. Anyway, for $37.95 + $7.95 shipping, it wasn't worth much of my time.

I may have found a website that has JUST the cable for $35US.

I am looking for someone in the US to buy the cable for me (and one for themselves if interested), and then relay it to me using a super cheap shipping method (USPS) marked as gift, etc.

In exchange, I will get you the Kyocera Desktop software or similar so you you can save the money just buying the cable itself without the software.

Payment on receipt of course. I have a very good eBay feedback record I can show to anyone interested in working with me on this.

Alright, need to add some details to that last post.

Whoever is out there looking for the data cable, and is interested in my above idea, PM me on the message board. If you don't know how, then e-mail me at andrewsfm@hotmail.com

I also found out that shipping on that website is free for orders over $49, so the cost of two cables would be $69 and would qualify for it!

Also, there's no tax for US residents that live outside of California, because that is where the company is located.

ANYONE???

Posted by: AndrewSFM

You mean to tell me that there's nobody out there looking to get a data cable for their Kyocera Blade/Rave/Phantom?
Come on, where are you guys?

Posted by: voxelman

I've already got mine and it only cost $37.95 plus $7 shipping.

Do you really think someone is going to do all of the running around that is required to mail something internationally for a $6 or $7 dollar savings?

Posted by: AndrewSFM

$6 or $7 savings? Not quite....

Seeing that you use the Phantom, I'm guessing you live in the US.
Not much savings to be had there.

For us guys who live in Canada, we can get two cables imported from a small cell accessory company for around the same price as just one from the Kyocera site. I don't need two, so I am looking for someone who's interested in the second.

If I lived in the US, I could have easily bought the cable for $34.50US with free shipping, but I don't, so I have to come up with something else.

I was also offering the Kyocera desktop software to anyone who wanted in, since we'd be buying just the cable only, and that alone costs $10US on the Kyocera site, so there's $10 savings right there, even for US customers.

I'm confused. I thought you were looking for someone in the US to buy the cable and ship it to you.

Also, the price that I paided for the cable included the Kyocera Desktop software.

Posted by: AndrewSFM

Well that was one option. To find someone who lives in the US, have them buy two, and then send me one.

The other way it can be done, is if someone else here in Canada has a contact in the US that can relay the package to us.

Even if it was someone in the US, they would save the shipping cost ($7-$15) cause the order would qualify for free shipping, Kyocera Desktop cost ($10) which is only included if you buy the kit and a few extra dollars on the cable ($5).
