Audiovox 8900 Power Source when Plugged in

Hi,

When the 8900 is plugged in, does it use outlet or battery power to place a call?

(You would think this is a moot point, but you'd be surprised: My Motorola i1000+ used outlet power (therefore NOT draining the battery when plugged in), but my Kyocera 2235 uses the battery any time a call is made.)

Any ideas? Those with the 8900 can you test this out?

Thank you so much,
rg.

What's a good way to test it out? Besides leave it plugged in and talk for hours?

I had it plugged in, and when I removed the battery, I can't even turn it on or make a call. So, I guess it does depends on the battery to be there.

Or, whenever you batter dies (talk till it turns off), plug it in and try to make a call.

Just by using it, sooner or later you get a feeling about it.

Thanks,
rg.

Just to let you guys know, when plugged in, the phone uses outlet power. I drained my battery tonight and came home and plugged it in. Immediately, I checked my voice mail and made a 10 minute phone call. Not only did the outlet power the phone but it CHARGED it as well! This phone charges INCREDIBLY FAST! This phone ROCKS! I'm very happy with it.
