Get the Belkin car charger make for the Kyocera 7135. I picked it up at Wal-Mart last night for around $8.
I hated how far out the Verizon one sticks...kept hitting it when I'd put the emergency break down in my Stang.
This one puts out a little less voltage than the factory one, but that's better than more. 
Plugged it in and it was charging fine.
It's stubby and has a mini blade style fuse....reeeeeally nice.
