You lazy bum! Heh.

If you have Telus, see thread http://www.howardforums.com/showthr...threadid=248897

If you have Verizon, then i am not sure. I tried a bunch different sizes, but the 8900 keep scaling it, or leave a nasty border around the pix.

Well, the best I could do without the Verizon phone starting to scale it is a 128x116 .jpg in the Media Gallery. It will use the entire width, but leave some annoying white border on top and bottom (sorta theater box layout heh). And of course, that annoying time/date box in the lower left corner. I wonder if it's because I havn't hit the magic number, or Verizon don't want full-screen pix? Or maybe I need to use a different file format (i.e png? wbmp?)? Verizon seems to be able to achieve full screen with the default flower animation and the default digital/analog clocks.

whats even more annoying is that PIX show up as full screen with no border...

I gave up already and have just been snapping pictures of images on my pc's screen. Aslong as you have a lcd or plazma monitor they seem to come out decent.... and best of all their free.

The screen on the 8900 is 128x160. Max image size is 128x145. The image in my sig can be used as a reference.

Z...

That seems to be right; 128x145 but I get the white border...

And are you doing HxW or WxH?

I tried both and nadda...

When you send yourself a .JPG thru VZWpix website, it will add the border.

You have to make them .PNG if you don't want to have the white border. Then email them thru an email client to yournumber@vzwpix.com .

(since the screen of the phone is taller than it is wide, I'd assume that it's 128w x 160h)

correct size is 128 wide by 145 tall
you must send using phonenumber@vzwpix.com
i dont believe it needs to be a png file

just dont send using vzwpix website

Is there a charge for emailing to your phone?

I've never been able to acccess the website to verify that or not...

Also... if you have the banner atop the main LCD screen, such as myself and 99% of the VZW customers with this phone, the resolution is 128x145... w/o it's 128x160 o.O

i resized mine to 145, and do not have the banner
it fills the entire screen minus the status icons, and soft button lables.
so, mine with the modded eri is perfect at 145 high

oh yeah, its supposed to cost 25 cents per message recieved on your phone
unless you have picture and messaging package
its free to send the pics via the vzw website

The 'Verizon Wireless' banner (right under the top icons)?

I just changed it.

I made it have NO letters in it, and NO background color.

But the STUPID clock box is still in the way!
If it was like Telus, it wouldn't be annoying.
