Is this correct and if it is can i do it w/o any experience and what else do I need to do it. Also what other neat things could i do with one of these cables, and does the LG VX 6000 cable definatly work for my phone!

I want to know the same thing, if a data cable has been released and what you can do with it.

Search around there are quite a few threads about the 8900s capabilities.

I got the VX6000 cable from the freedomnet guy on ebay and it definitely works. However, since you are with Cellular One like me, you won't be able to get pictures and ring tones onto the phone with just the cable. At least in my city, sending pictures through the phone does not work yet. So you can't do the Verizon trick where you send yourself a .mid and overwrite it later with the cable. The only thing I can use my cable for is getting my photos off the phone which is pie, and that's worth getting the cable to me.

Can you guys post a Cellular One file system directory structure when you get a chance?
- Just use BitPim to backup the entire tree.
- Unzip it to your hard drive.
- Go to DOS (Start->Run->"cmd")
- In Dos, change directory to whereever you backed it up ("cd c:\mybackup" for example)
- type in "tree /F /A > junk.txt"
- attach junk.txt here please?

SimpleCoax, I guess you tried Zaediex's utility already and it doesn't work on your phone as well? I wonder if your file structure is same as Verizon's? If so, db/download_img.txt and db/download_snd.txt size should be multiple of 92 and nvm/phbk/phonebook should be 78300 bytes. I am curious to find out how many versions of Audiovox 8900 there are... Thanks!
