Well, I don't think moving around quickly will make the phone come off the holster. But I did accidentally release the phone a couple of time by pusing on the release tab. For example, when you exit your car, your elbow might be pushing it. Since I only had it for a month, the hold isn't very loose.
The construction isn't the going to stop bullet. But in my personal opinion, it isn't so bad. If you read other reviews in the forums, then you will see some other people complaining about it. I see some people complain about how you can wiggle the clam shell. So far I only had a scratch on the blue blinky light part from when I dropped the phone.

well i had my phone in my hand the other day while getting out of the car... i was fumbling around for my keys to get inside the house and dropped my phone on the concrete. i was suprised because all it did was scratch a little piece on the side of the phone. other than that everything else is perfectly fine. the 8900 is no heavy duty phone by any means... but it held up pretty good to be dropped on cement.

The "holster" has held up surprisingly well for me as well. I keep expecting it to flip of my belt or something but it keeps on keepin' on.
And the holding clip is of surprising study design.
