Thank you. It's a very informed crowd and people help each other. That's a good forum.

This is a much calmer environment than the days with the annoying repetitive posters.

It seems to be a one topic forum. I hope it can evolve beyond the slider phone.

it will evolve when kyocera come out with a better phone

...or more phones. They don't have many in the North American market.

Posted by: umusa1033

i think once they get more phones out and open up to a broader audience...they will be better...but right now they are limited in the market

Posted by: RNS

I guess he other high end Kyocera is the 7135. It doesn't get much attention here.

one question, is kyocera a korean company??

Yeah, that's why they're so committed to CDMA. Korea is 100% CDMA.

i guess korea is going mad at this cell phone business, but sony is still good, did u guys see the new sony z200 phone, looks amazing, i would choose that over slider if i have the money

The Z200 is a beautiful phone. I really like Ericsson phones - Sony Ericsson, in this case. You would have to switch to a GSM provider.

Posted by: parn34

too bad i had a 2 year plan with bell.....when this plan is done, sony will probly come out with z200000000 or something...hahaha

Posted by: parn34

just one question, i'm new at this, but whats the differences between CDMA and GSM???

Reply to most of these posts:
Yeah, I do wish kyocera came out with more phones, but I'd rather have them come out with quality phones seldomly, than a new (low/no quality) phone a week like nokia.

rns: what does the acronym "RNS" mean? and I agree with hyou on sony phones, I love 'em ... accually, I love everything sony makes.
but why are they called sony-erricson? does ericson just make the mobile part, and sony does everything else?....

Posted by: DiamondDice

I just saw the Kyocera Revolver on the Japanese Kyocera website and damn is it wicked. Is there anyway that I could get that phone in English? And hopefully working with Canadian/American providers?

Sony doesn't make the phones. So the phones you love are not Sony products. The two companies created a mobile phone company together called Sony-Ericsson. It's a corporate entity. In the beginning the phones they made like the T39 were really pure Ericsson. Then out came the colour T68 and the T68i. The T68i carried the SE nameplate but under the skin, it was an Ericsson T68 - pure Ericsson. The T600 and T610 were the first really out and out children of the collaboration. They had a Sony inspired design and the great Ericsson inners.

So Sony-Ericsson is a company, like Kyocera or Motorola. It isn't one or the other. It's an entity unto itself, with its own corporate structure and autonomy.
