Has anyone seen the Virgin Mobile UK site?...If so dont you guys think they're 10 steps ahead of Virgin Mobile US...They have the Nokia 3300,N-GAGE,Siemen SL55,And other outstanding phones!...and they offer Wallpapers,Screen Savers, and more....!They also offer contracts...the point im tryin to make is that we could expect some outstanding things from Virgin Mobile US in the future!....what do you think?

they have better phones because they use gsm. this is no way to tell what vigin mobile usa will be like in the future.

GSM means choice. If you check out the North American GSM providers, you'll see some exotic phones.

Two canadian providers:

yeah, I suggested people check out Virgin Mobile UK a while back. I do wish the US had their network set up so you can 1. SMS from a landline phone 2. use any phone with any provider by just switching cards 3. buy universal "top up" cards anywhere.

Using any phone will be possible when CDMA switches to SIM cards like GSM. It's going to happen. IDEN has already switched over. As for "any provider" - not in our lifetimes.

hmmmm...It seemed like when I was in the uk you could just waltz on over to the newspaper stand and buy a (prepaid) sim card and put it in a phone... maybe i'm wrong

Oh yeah, you can do that with any unlocked GSM phone. I did it for years before changing to CDMA. I thought you meant doing it within the context of locked up CDMA. 90% of the members on HoFo who happen to be Canadian because it's a Canadian forum, do what you just described you saw in England.

Oh . Does that mean that there will never be a dedicated virgin mobile forum on hofo? Since there is on virgin mobile in canada. . .

Posted by: RNS

No we have dedicated forums for all the major US providers.

they probably wont get a virgin forum since not that many people use virgin as their main provider. there wont be much interest in it. whatever questions people have, they just post in the kyocera forums. if they did make a virgin forum it would be nothing but people asking stupid questions like "how can i get free minutes"

Cool . Will virgin usa be on this list anytime soon? Also , do you have a list or the top providers and manufactures in order?

Go to the main page of HoFo and you'll see a list of all the top providers in Canada and the US. There's a forum for each of them. If you want a Virgin forum, you can start lobbying me, but not yet. We have to learn more about them. I predict you'll get a forum.
