i know the vm4500 is supposed to be released sometime this month at costco but im not sure when. does anyone know when it will be released or if it has, and hwo much it will cost?

Posted by: jjang

just buy it from amazon. i talked to 3 sprint workers at costco and the manager and they all said the phone will probably be old by the time they get it so i dunno

Posted by: volcomwrx

i really want to get it from costco cause they have a lifetime warranty with all their phones plus i heard amazon takes like 2 weeks to get the phone.

Posted by: jjang

im still waiting on mine but i guess its worth the wait because its only $50

Don't count o COSCO getting this phone anytime soon as Coscos'
policy is to carry merchandise that is obtainable.
Right now the VM4500 is in high demand especially with people at Amazon having this phone on back-order and SPRINT stores having first priority of getting inventory.

Hi everybody!

That's true, that Amazon.com gives good deals on WM4500. ($50)

However, I was wondering how does the warranty works.

For example, If I buy the phone from their web site and something goes wrong with the battery or a device in general, what should I do?

I guess I would have to send it back to them.... is it true?

Or perhaps I can go to any Sprint PCS store and have it repaired? Please let me know because I am considering this transaction. Thanx!

amazon pisses me off i just got an email saying the phone has been back ordered and i ordered it on january 10. i jsut wish there was something i could do:dohh and also, does anyone know the number to amazon's customer service.
thanks

I just purchased the VM4500 from my local Sprint store. The total came to $402. I also got a $150 MIR for having my previous phone for more than 18 mos. I know that $250 is more than most people are paying for this phone, but I like the fact that I don't have to wait for shipping, expecially when every place is backordered.

Also, if you are concerned with warrenty issues, there is a one year manufacturer warrenty on the phone. This only covers malfunctioning. If you purchase the phone through a Sprint store or through thier telesales, you can get the carrier's warrenty, which covers loss, theft, malfunctioning, and everything else in between. This does cost an extra $4/month, but may be worth it if you drop your phone in the toliet or Mr. Sticky Fingers decides to be your friend today.

Amazon's customer service number is 1-800-201-7575. I called them earlier today about the delay (which actually increased by a month when I tried to upgrade my shipping to overnight delivery!), but didn't really get anywhere useful with the person I spoke to.

I am now being told that my 2 VM4500s will be delayed, possibly until sometime in March! (original ship date was supposed to be today) I did manage to get in writing that amazon will see to it that both their rebate and Sprint's will be honored even if I take delivery of the phones after the cutoff dates, and I encourage others to do the same.

Overall, I can't believe how terribly amazon is handling this situation. The problem seems to have something to do with their system's inability to determine how much product is at their distribution centers, both when the order is being processed as well as after. I guess I should console myself with the thought that I got a really good deal on the phones, but I'm worried that IF I ever see them that the rebate process is going to be an absolute nightmare.

I've done a lot of business with amazon in the past without issue, but lately I'm beginning to feel that they've just gotten way too big for their own good. I mean I can understand being off by a couple days in their estimated ship date, but missing it by six weeks is simply absurd!

yep i ordered mine on january 10 but they told me it was backordered so i just went to the store and got it. i think its bs that some people that ordered after me got it and didnt but oh well

The VM4500 is in HOT demand, as we all know. Why would SPRINT undercut themselves when they can get anywhere from $229 to $379 in their stores.

Eventually, you MIGHT see it in COSCO or AMAZON, but not at least for 3 to 6 months. If you really want the phone you'll have to pay.

I was in 2 SPRINT stores on WED and both were 'OUT OF STOCK'.

how do u use zoom on the vm4500?

Posted by: largirl

You have to take the camera off high-resolution/high quality (I can't remember off the top of my head if it's one or both you have to change) to zoom. The lower resolution, the more you can zoom. Go to "Options" once you're in camera mode to reduce the quality. Then you can hit right or left to zoom.
