Jus wondering has anyone figured out the use of animated-ring.txt and info.txt in the db directory of cdm 8600 phones? I figure they must be there for a reason but ive tried playing around with them and haven't found even a hint of any relativity.
and also if the on off animations are on the phone there must be a way of editing them...and the idle screen animations...maybe the phone uses hidden files?

not that its a huge deal but it would be nice to know so any help would be cool

If the phone is anything similar to the 8900, then the files are there to keep track of what pix/anims/ringtones are on your phone.

I think some of the default stuff are embedded in the software, so you can't really edit them via the file system.

On the 8900, we can disable the on/off animations (replace it with a big X across your screen). But the darn sound still plays. Not sure if we can disable that down the road.

I entered some filenames into animated-rings.txt to see what menu they would end up in on the phone....I didnt see anything until I wanted to change a ringtone for a contact in the phonebook....the filenames showed up underneath my downloaded ringtones...but they don't display under my downloads when i just want to change my default ringtone....only when I want to change a certain contacts ring which leads me to believe I can have a different type of ringtone? one with an animation?but no idea what file type or if I'm just hallucinating and gone completely off the wall?
