Does anyone have a suggestion to purchase 0603 blue LEDs? I'm looking to buy them in bulk and checked online and on eBay, but they seem prohibitively expensive...

If you need a whole reel (3k usually)

You can also social engineer samples out of companies if you are patient. Just do a web request to for a 0603 SMT led for qty xx usually 10-20 flys okay on cheap stuff.

The led mfg have web pages with sample request forms, distributor info etc.

"Hi, I am part of XYZ startup, and our H/W engineers need some samples for a new product they are designing. Looking to evaluate your abc LED and would like to get 20 peices if possible"

Not a bad idea, never thought of that before. I just ordered mine off of cellphoneshop.net when I got some other stuff. I imagine digikey or mouser would be cheaper tho.
